Commissioning Ceremony of the 1st Phase of Aba Mega Mall

Yesterday, being 26th May, 2015, Aba – Enyimba city witnessed a new dawn with the official commissioning ceremony of Aba Mega Mall in Osisioma with the honourable presence of the Executive Governor of Abia State, Chief Dr Theodore Ahamefula Orji, CON.

It will interest you to know that Aba Mega Mall otherwise known as Aba Mega Shopping Mall is the direct product of the partnership business entered into by Greenfield Assets Ltd with The Abia State Government.
This Mega Mall is purported to become a commercial hub for the entire South-East and South-South regions of Nigeria with lots of facilities and infrastructures that can appeal to taste and of course, with a global standard.

Mr Paul Obanua

Speaking at the occasion, Chief T. A. Orji, CON, Governor of Abia State thanked the Group Managing Director of Greenfield Assets Ltd, Mr Paul Obanua for coming into Abia State to be a part and parcel of the development strategies of his administration. In a more resounding note, he thanked the Osisioma Villagers for donating their lands willingly to the State Government to see that Abia State is developed. He emphatically said that this milestone development would not have been possible if people and the host community did not donate their lands to the Government. He implored other communities to emulate this kind of lovely gesture to see that Abia State is developed.

While unveiling some of the plans and visions of Greenfield Assets Ltd towards Aba Mega Mall, Mr Paul Obanua thanked the Ochendo Administration for being a great pillar of support to the project and prayed that God will continue to bless him even as he moves to Abuja. During the interactive session with members of the Media which Aba is Good Online Magazine was ably represented by the Editor, he reiterated that they have signed an agreement with Oando Power and Nigerian Customs to have their own generated power supply to the tune of 10Mega Watts and Dry Port within the vicinity of the Shopping Mall respectively.

Speaking briefly about the Dry Port, intended to be the first of its kind in this part of the world, the Group Managing Director of Greenfield Assets Ltd said that this Dry Port when completed will bring Nigerian Customs down to Aba, increase the cordial relationship between Customs and Business owners trading within the premises, make our Sea Ports in Lagos, Onne and Calabar transition points for all goods coming to the South-Eastern Nigeria.

This means that there will be no need of traveling to Lagos, Calabar or Onne to clear your containers as it will gently meet you at your door-step here in Aba.

This, indeed is good news, but in the other way round may not go down well with Business owners in Ariaria International Market, Cemetery Market, Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Ahia Ohuru (New Market) and Salad Market who for once never bought the idea, concept and terms and conditions of the Aba Mega Mall project and because of the stringent approaches that may likely be followed to make them clear their goods in Aba Mega Mall against their wish.

When this finally comes to maturity, including the Abattoir, Hotel and Cinema House, a Comptroller will be appointed to take care of the Dry Port in Aba Mega Mall.

So far, Aba is Good Online Magazine is following back-to-back every development trend taking place inside and around Aba Mega Mall and will continue to update you with more details.
