The latest information coming to our news desk from the city of Lokoja in Kogi State this evening has it that Prince Abubakar Audu, the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate who had collaborated with the Federal government led by Buhari to rig the election in their favour is dead.

Prince Abubakar Audu, who hails from Ogbonicha, Ofu Local Government Area was born on October 24, 1947.

Shortly after voting in his country home at Ogbonicha on Saturday, Prince Audu complained of stomach ache. He was advised to take a rest but as the ache persevered, an arrangement was made to take him to Abuja from where he will be urgently flown abroad for medical attention. However unfortunately, he slumped and died after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in their delay tactics declared the result of the election inconclusive.

One of the aides of the APC candidate, Tenimu Nasidi said as a Muslim they are, they have taken his death in good faith as they strongly believed that God gives and God takes, “To me I believed that his time was up; nothing any man can do to stop it” he said.

Though they are verifiable evidences that Prince Abubakar Audu of APC had won the election with a total vote of 240, 867 as against his PDP counterpart, Governor Wada who had 199, 514 votes out of the 21 Local Government Areas in the state, yet as the second runner, Governor Wada will still remain the Governor of Kogi State.

Being a Muslim he is, Prince Audu will be buried by 10:00 AM tomorrow morning.
Let’s keep watching what will be the next line of action of APC and President Buhari who is currently in Iran for a summit and other engagements.

Our condolence goes to his party, APC, the people of Kogi State, Governor Wada and especially his family members. May God give them the fortitude to bear his demise. Unfortunately, he passed on at the time they needed him most.
