How Senator Ike Ekweremadu Escaped An Attempt To Assassinate Him

Senator Ike Ekweremadu (IkeOha)

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu (Ike Oha), yesterday graciously escaped an attempt by some paid hoodlums to assassinate his life in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The reported attempt occurred yesterday at about 10:00am on his way to the National Assembly between Apo Flyover and Dantata Construction Company’s yard, very close to the Old Central Bank of Nigeria headquarters junction.

From the information gathered from the Special Adviser (Media) to the Deputy President of the Senate, Uche Anichukwu, it revealed that the assassins came with a white-coloured Mercedez Benz AMG E63, having a man who looked like a mercenary.

He said; “The vehicle, which was positioned by the Apo Bridge, on noticing that the Deputy President of the Senate’s convoy took the right turn to join the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway instead, made a turn and attempted to ram into the convoy, but was blocked. The driver, however, sped off to the Apo Roundabout and on sighting the convoy of the Deputy President of the Senate, violently broke into the convoy and made several frantic attempts to ram into the Senator’s official car.”

“The vehicle refused to stop when charged at by the security operatives attached to the Deputy President of the Senate, but when pushed to a tight corner, the driver made a U-turn, partially smashed an oncoming vehicle on the opposite lane of the highway, and escaped”, Anichukwu explained.

So far, the matter has been reported to the security agents.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has called on the IGP to investigate the incident and bring to book those who are behind the attempt to eliminate their illustrious son.

Thinking she has perfected the plans, the wife of Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Remi Tinubu went and sat on Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s seat. She refused to vacate the seat until PDP Senators shouted her down and she disgracefully left for her seat.
