What a tragic Christmas for the people of Nnewi? 

On Thursday, December 24, 2015 many homes in Nnewi, Anambra State were thrown into mourning as no fewer than 100 lives were reportedly lost after a gas plant operated by Chikason Group through its subsidiary, Inter Corp Oil Limited was enveloped by fire after the impatience of one of the truck drivers made him discharge gas at the same some customers were refilling their cylinders.

The pictures of gas explosion scene are complete eye-sore. The government must act fast to avoid a re-occurrence of this hazard.

The police in partnership with other agents and members of the host community has commenced work in making sure that the various charred bodies are identified.

The corpse of the gas explosion victims have been deposited at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.
