Hidden Secret Why Kaduna APC Suspended the Outspoken Senator, Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani

The outspoken Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, Senator Shehu Sani representing the good people of Kaduna Central Senatorial district was on December 27, 2015 served a letter of suspension.

The content of the letter forbids Senator Shehu Sani from attending any political meeting organised by All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State for a period of eleven months.

Although the national body of APC is yet unaware of the suspension, but the governor, Nasir El-Rufai who motivated the anti-shehu conspiracy because of how critical Senator Shehu Sani has been about his administration is yet to respond to it.

The letter of suspension of Senator Shehu Sani which was dated 27th December, 2015 was made available to the press on December 28.

In the letter, All Progressive Congress (APC), Tudun Wada North ward 6 of Kaduna State accused Senator Shehu Sani of playing anti-party activities with his constant criticisms of the policies of  Governor Nasir El-Rufai, which he consider many times to be unruly and undemocratic.

The ward Secretary of the APC, Ahmed Abudulhamid who signed the suspension letter said that Senator Shehu Sani was 'factionalising' the party in the State.

Speaking through his spokesman on politics, Suleiman Ahmed, Senator Shehu said that the writers of the letter are ignorant of the constitution of the party. He also added that the letter will never in any way stop his boss, Senator Shehu Sani of challenging Governor Nasir El-Rufai whenever he peddles any policy or policies that are anti-people.

You will recall that Senator Shehu Sani and Governor Nasir El-Rufai had been engaged in media war in the last few months, on what Senator Shehu described as anti-people policies of the administration of Governor El-Rufai in Kaduna State, especially as it regards the demolition of alleged illegal structures in Kaduna.

The letter also added that the anti-party activities are so pronounced especially criticising the Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

“There is hardly a week passes by his Group, will not be on the air in criticizing and challenging the enduring legacies of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

” That his statement on National issues is not inconformity with that of the State Governor and Government of Kaduna State.

“That he has remained consistently in confrontation with the good policies of the Government of Kaduna State and considering it anti people’s policy.

“In view of this, we have unanimously agreed that Senator Shehu Sani representing ward six should be suspended for the period of eleven months and that henceforth he is disengaged in partaking or attending party activities in Kaduna State subject to other punitive measures respectively”, the statement read.

However unfortunate, this and many more has proven that the APC-led government wants not only to run a single-party system but also to silence anyone who dare criticise them.
