I did not go to Dubai to conspire against Buhari, Atiku cries out

Atiku has denied the accusation leveled against him by his political opponents that his regular visit to Dubai has been nothing but to work against Buhari. Read the entire post to see his reasons.

Atiku Abubakar
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a Former Vice President and All Progressive Congress Chieftain, on Sunday, December 27, denied the accusation making news in Nigeria that he was in Dubai to coordinate a meeting of conspiracy against President Muhammadu Buhari.

He disclosed that his constant trip to Dubai unlike what his opponent’s insinuation suggested had been for the purpose of his health.

The rumour like he claimed it was was that he has been travelling to Dubai to organize political meetings at Burj Al-Arab against President Buhari and his administration.

According to a statement delivered on his behalf by his Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, Atiku referred the rumour mongers as “political mischief makers and enemies of unity”. He stated that the content of rumour being peddled against him by political opponents had been for the singular purpose of distracting President Muhammadu Buhari.

Instead, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar stated that he cannot afford to be a distraction to President Buhari at the time he needed him most and therefore called on Nigerians to disregard the claim that he is anti-Buhari. He said that no one who meant well for the APC administration and Nigeria as a whole would dare to heat up the polity.

He blunted responded that attending to his health should be a personal thing which remains his right and should not call for embarrassment.

He said: “Whether at home or abroad, the Turaki is preoccupied with his unassailable support to President Buhari and his administration, especially in this critical time, as it works assiduously to turn the fortunes of our dear country around and make Nigeria work for the greater good of Nigerians.

“Rumour mongers and mischief makers are toxic to the progress of the APC and the country at large, adding that the campaigns are gone, and therefore, all energies should be constructively devoted to the success of the Buhari administration.

“This is yet another plot of the enemies of our country and democracy to divide, divert attention and distract the APC in its avowed commitment to secure the country, provide jobs for the mass of unemployed youths, build needed critical infrastructure, enthrone a regime of probity and accountability and pull the country out of the economic woods it has been consigned to by locust years of mismanagement.”

Meanwhile, Dubai has remained the meeting and holiday destinations of many Nigeria politicians. Little wonder Atiku’s constant travel to Dubai was misinterpreted.
