What Senator Godswill Akpabio Told Governor Udom Emmanuel and Akwa Ibomites

Senator Godswill Akpabio

While addressing the people of Akwa Ibom State during the last concluded 2015 Christmas Carol Festival in Uyo over the weekend, the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and currently the Senator representing Akwa-Ibom North-West Senatorial district, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio encouraged the people of the State and the current Governor, Udom Emmanuel not to panic over the verdict of the Court of Appeal that sacked the governor and declared a re-run.

Akpabio stated emphatically that the Court of Appeal ruling is not the final until God who chairs the Court of Justice decides. And Udom Emmanuel having pulled the highest votes at the poll against his opponent, Mr Umana Umana of All Progressive Congress will be said to have being the mind of God.

In his remark speech at the Christmas Carol Festival in Uyo where he took time to advise Governor Udom Emmanuel and Akwa Ibomites entirely, Senator Godswill Akpabio was quoted to have said the following;

“Through your voices tonight, you have brought victory to Akwa Ibom State. I don’t want you to be distracted by the pronouncement of lower court, upper court or what have you. The court that we need to listen to and the one we need to wait for is the court of justice, and it comes from the God Almighty.

“Together in 2015 we came and said we must do justice, and justice means in 1999 we gave power to Uyo Senatorial district. In 2007 we gave power to Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district. We said in 2015, power will go to Eket Senatorial district.

“I want to reassure you that come rain come sunshine your will shall be done because the will of the people continues to be the will of God.

“Udom Gabriel Emmanuel will remain our governor beyond 2016. The people have spoken” he said.

At the close of his remark, Senator Akpabio prophesied over the people of Akwa Ibom, wishing them a splendorous Christmas celebration and further beckoned on them to contribute their quota in seeing that peace and tranquility is maintained not only in the State but the nation at large. He thanked the people and prayed that God Almighty who gave authority to lead Akwa Ibom people to Udom Gabriel Emmanuel will help to retain his candidacy. He noted that no card reader has the power under God to take away the mandate the people of Akwa Ibom State gave Governor Udom

The former governor, further called on everyone to love one another noting that Christmas is all
about love.

“Christmas is all about love that is why God sent his son to come and die for us. God is love.

“The message we should all take from here is to love ourselves, our brothers as ourselves. If we love one another then we won’t be killing ourselves.

“There’ll be nothing like Boko Haram, militancy, killings and vandalism that we see around. All
those things will be extinct, if we love one another irrespective of our ethnic group and religion.

“The world should be one, Nigeria should be one just like Akwa Ibom is one,” he said.
