Man Goes Mad in Abia after His Building and Shop Was Demolished Without Compensation

A father, who hails from Umuobiakwa community in Obingwa Local Government of Abia, on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, went mad after his home and shop was demolished as a result of the massive road construction embarked upon by Dr Okezie Ikpeazu in the area.

Like we observed in the area, the construction workers while trying to expand the Umuobikwa road demolished the man’s house and shop, leaving him homeless and frustrated since his source of income has been scuttled.

The mad man who wore only boxers wandered round the village throwing himself on the ground at every instance.

Umuobiakwa village is coincidentally the hometown of the governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.

Some of the sympathizers who spoke to us about the fate of the newly gone mad man stated that the worst thing in this case is that there was no compensation paid to the man who together with his family was rendered homeless and his source of livelihood destroyed.

When we introduced ourselves to the villagers as crew from ABA IS GOOD ONLINE MAGAZINE, they pleaded with us to write about this story so that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu can come to the man’s aid.

We call on the State Governor to please have pity on this man and grant him some compensations even if he does not deserve it, at least for the purpose of helping him regain his sanity.

More so, traders at Cameroon road, Aba have called on the governor to build more shops for them at Good Morning Market before asking them to relocate so as to make life easier for them. They also pleaded that the security in the area be beefed up.
